Commitment to Safeguarding Children and Young People
Chabad Youth has a zero-tolerance towards abuse and neglect of children and young people. We are committed to the rights of all children and young people to feel safe and be safe when participating in our activities, services and programs.
Safeguarding children and young people is a shared responsibility, it is reliant on all individuals within our organisation to place the best interest of children and young people at the core of all actions and decisions concerning their safety and wellbeing.
As part of our commitment, we have developed a framework of policies, procedures and practices to support our personnel in meeting their responsibilities to protect children and young people from all forms of abuse and neglect whilst in our care.
All our personnel, including Board and committee members, employees, casual staff, volunteers and contractors are required to observe our safeguarding children and young people policies, procedures and practices without fail.
Management considers a failure to observe our safeguarding children and young people policies, procedures and practices to be misconduct, and will result in appropriate disciplinary action. Depending on the seriousness of the misconduct, disciplinary action may include suspension while matters are investigated and/or dismissal. In addition to any internal disciplinary proceedings, any breaches of law will be reported to police.
